WordPress has been down for much of the day, so I apologize for my lateness in this.
Anyway, two bits of election filing news:
First, Scott Yow has apparently changed his mind about seeking a seat on the school board.
“There have been some ‘reality checks’ in both my family as well as my ministry that simply will NOT allow me to run,” Yow, a Lee County pastor, said in an e-mail today. “God knows my heart and unending passion to make a difference in Lee County with regards to the continue rise of drugs and gangs within our communities. The fact is, I will continue to fight and stand for character and integrity within our communities, but within the confines of my ministry and not as a candidate.”
Second, Democratic Commissioner Ed Paschal has filed to seek another term on the Lee County Board of Commissioners. Paschal holds one of the at-large seats that are up for grabs.
Paschal is only the second incumbent, and the fourth Democrat, to file for a seat on the board.
